Ramona Gregory is trying to trace information on her grandmother, Josephine Mary Prossor, nicknamed Lalls, who was a nurse, from Waterford, Ireland, born in the late 1890s or early 1900s.
Josephine's father was Frederick William Prossor who died on December 8, 1909, aged 52, in The Spa, Tralee. It is probable that he was a banker in Waterford, and that he had married into the Wallis family of doctors from Charleville, Cork.
Josephine is known to have had a sister, Freda, and a brother, St John (Sinjun).
Josephine emigrated to Australia, possibly with Irish nationalist Archbishop Daniel Mannix. She married Jeremiah Eugene O'Reardon, and they had one child, Owen, in 1921.
In 1917, Josephine was given a poetry book for punctuality from St Vincent's hospital, Melbourne
She died in March 1922 of septicemia after a gallbladder operation, and her body was returned to Ireland, being buried in Cahirciveen, co Kerry. Her husband Jeremiah died the following year, and Owen was brought up by an aunt.He was not allowed to have much contact with the Prossor side of the family
